What is Semi Permanent Make-up?

    The Micropigmentation / Semi Permanent Make-up Procedure

    You will need a consultation before having the treatment. During the consultation you should expect to discuss your expectations and needs as well as your medical history.

    1. The practitioner will then determine if you should receive a local anaesthetic or use an anesthesia cream.
    2. The practitioner will evaluate your skin for tone, texture and complexion in order to choose proper pigment to match your skin tones.

    Pictures are usually taken before the treatment so you can compare the results.

    Micropigmentation is performed in the practitioner's clinic's. Either a pen-like instrument or standard tattoo gun is usually used to complete the procedure. A mixture of iron and titanium oxide pigment is injected and as the colour only penetrates 0.2mm deep, it fades within time. Small dots of colour are injected rather than a solid line. This creates a more natural look.

    The procedure does not take long; it should take around 20 minutes to a half hour per eyelid for semi permanent eyeliner.

    If you are receiving anesthesia, you will be required to arrive earlier in order to let the anesthesia take effect. After the procedure, your specialist or doctor will give you with an antiseptic to cleanse the treated area.

    After the Procedure

    There may be some swelling or bruising around the treated area. It is advised not to wear make-up on the treated area for the first few days. Touching up may be required to give the best result. This will be advised by the practitioner.
